A native New Yorker, Rén is equal parts bubbly and inviting and not to be messed with, a dichotomy reflected in her music. The intoxicating wildness of the City is captured in her signature mop of hair, aptly dubbed the “mane”. Receiving plaudits from Nylon Magazine, Paste, Line of Best Fit, Kitsune, and more, Rén is no stranger to the blogosphere. Grooving tracks like ‘Changes’, 'Into the Unknown', ‘Already Gone’ and ‘Fool For You’ have been featured on numerous Spotify playlists including New Music Friday, Indie Pop, A Shot of Indie, and TV shows including Love Island, Netlflix's Partner Track, MTV’s Teen Mom, and Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. Her newest single ‘On My Own’ was inspired by what Rén says was “a quarantine relationship which carried on too long because the need of companionship. It became hard to speak my truth - because this person became someone I truly cared about, but in the end I was sticking with them mostly because I was lonely. It was cathartic to write while I was trying to figure out what I was doing [in this relationship].“

In addition to being a prolific songwriter and artist, Rén is an intoxicating performer and has become somewhat of a figure around the streets of New York this past year. In a time the city was yearning for connection, she found herself singing with a brass band throughout Manhattan to offer her fellow New Yorkers a sense of camaraderie and joy. She also works as a hair/makeup artist and stylist, primarily working with other musicians to help bring out their best side. Rén says, “when a client leaves feeling beautiful and confident and excited about the projects they’re working on, it fuels me. In my opinion the purpose of life is to have an impact on others so whether it’s making someone feel beautiful or having someone resonate w my music, both connections make my heart feel full”. She has worked with acclaimed artists Regina Spektor, AJR Brothers, and St Lucia, amongst others.
